Stops 2 and 3 – Warsaw, Poland – Dining Near the Governor and Greens for Dessert Well…nearly near the Governor General of Canada who was wined and dined at the Presidential Palace a stone’s throw away. Still, my meal was presidential in feel. I dined at Restauracja Delicja Polska with classic meat, game, dumpling and fish dishes served in an elegant and romantic old-school Polish dining room. To start: buttery cheese-filled and caramelized onion-topped pillows of pierogi that floated off my plate right to my waistline. The local wine cut their richness. Then a walk to the Old Town Market Place (Rynek Starego Miasta) for a breather–past curio shops and kitchens with open windows to oogle at the pastries. I chose the fruit cake with strawberries and basil (!) to balance all of the fat from dinner. After a quick run in the morning, I head by train to Kraków. Come along for the ride (and more Polish food and drink)!
